Three years ago, Sanjay Jha was lured to revive Motorola Inc.'s ailing cellphone division with the prospect of tens of millions of dollars in compensation.
It turns out, he could make more money from selling the unit, now a separate company known as Motorola Mobility Holdings Inc. Google Inc. agreed Monday to acquire Motorola Mobility for $12.5 billion.
Mr. Jha, Motorola Mobility's CEO, could gain more than $62 million if he leaves Google Inc. in the next two years, according to calculations by The Wall Street Journal and the Hay Group, a management-consulting firm.
