Turning Around a Struggling Publisher

Nancy McKinstry moved from the U.S. to Amsterdam in 2003 to take up a tough job: turn around a struggling publishing company, Wolters Kluwer NV, which had alienated customers and underinvested in its products. As CEO of this Dutch-based 3.4 billion euro information-services provider, she has moved a lot of the company's tax, legal and medical information online, and made different divisions work together so successful products in one country could be adapted for others.
